Put your Tree Friend on the map!

You are invited to a special event for Astley Ainslie Tree Befrienders on Sunday 25th September at 11am.

We are starting to map the locations of trees in AA on Treezilla, which is a monster map of UK trees from the Open University and Forest Research. There are already a million trees on the map, but almost none of ours’ so help us put that right. Treezilla records lots of useful information about the tree and calculates for you the contribution that your tree is making to the ecosystem. When we’re done, we will have a lovely map to show everyone what is so precious about Astley Ainslie.

Before you come:

Treezilla has a smartphone app for iPhones and Android that you can download for free to your phone. Use the app to register with Treezilla before you come, or register online.

Meet us on Sunday 25th September 

At 11am inside the gate at the bottom of Whitehouse Loan.

We’ll spend about an hour together recording trees, starting with the adopted ones and then lots of others.
