Nature Recovery

AACT is organising a programme of nature activities in the grounds of the Astley Ainslie, a project funded by the Edinburgh Community Mental Health and Well-being Fund, to support the well-being benefits of connecting with nature for the local community.

Two types of events are taking place in the spring, summer and autumn:

  1. Nature days open to all on Sunday 23rd. July, probably around 11/12 - 4 pm and Sunday 29th. October, probably around 11/12 - 3pm. Lots of different drop-in activities will take place throughout the day, with a few bookable, including nature discovery walks, species identification (trees, plants, birds, animals), natural crafts, creative writing, story telling, song making etc.

  2. 10 small groups activity courses tailored to the needs of small groups from local community groups, with the first starting on June 8th.

AACT will be working closely with the NHS and the NHS charity Greenspace Management plan for these activities and plans to engage the local community as much as possible.
